Jim Lemons
President
    In May of 2009 Jim founded Manufacturing Solutions (MSI) along with Craig Hall. Jim is responsible for all aspects of MSI’s day to day business, except the Outside Sales Team. Jim started in the manufacturing industry back in 1985 de-burring parts and cleaning coolant tanks in a small machine shop. He attended Hawkeye Institute of Technology and was certified in structural welding in 1988. Jim continued to work his way up in the shop, from an operator of manual and tape reader machines, to CNC lathes and mills, gear hobs, gear shapers, gear shavers, broaches, assembly of heavy duty gear boxes, offline programmer and then becoming a setup / lead man in a union production shop. Once into a leadership role Jim moved up quickly into shop management. While on the shop side Jim completed over 60 different courses for supervision, CNC programming, management, ISO 9000 internal auditor, fixture design, Quality Management, CMM inspection equipment and Lean Manufacturing. Jim has also attended over 100 Manufacturers product training seminars. Jim has been in Industrial Distribution since 1998 and has produced in excess of $8 million dollars in documented cost savings for his customers. Jim and his wife, Kim and their two children, Emily and Bradley, reside in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. In his free time, Jim enjoys spending time with his family, salmon fishing, hunting and snowmobiling.

Craig Hall
Vice President - Outside Sales Manager
    In May of 2009, Craig joined up with Jim to found Manufacturing Solutions. Craig is responsible for the Outside Sales Team and new business development for MSI. Mr. Hall has had experience in the manufacturing industry since graduating with a Bachelor’s degree from Bemidji State University in Industry Technology in 1993 during which time he also served for the MN Army National Guard for six years. After college he started as a Manufacturing Engineer and then moved up to being the Engineering Manager and then into cutting tool sales for an Industrial distributor in 2003. Craig has experience in the management of integrated supply contracts providing end users with significant cost savings through multiple competing lines and reducing costs in various manufacturing processes. He also has an extensive background in high volume manufacturing of automated transmission case machining, shaft manufacturing and other drive train components. Craig specializes in new technology tooling and work-holding products designed to optimize production machining processes. He loves assisting customers from design stages through the final production providing the optimum and lowest cost per part process possible. He is experienced in programming CNC lathes, mills, robots and grinders, designing fixtures and special machines for various applications, and has worked with broaches, hobs, roto-flows and aluminum die casting machines. In his spare time, Craig enjoys snowmobiling, fishing, motorcycling with his wife, golfing with his family, boating doing watersports such as tubing, knee boarding, and skiing with his kids. In the fall months, he enjoys hunting with his son, dad, relatives and friends. Craig, his wife, their two kids and their three dogs reside near Detroit Lakes Minnesota in a small town he bets you can’t find on a map!

Brett Huneke
Director of Operations
    Brett has been with Manufacturing Solutions since July 2014. He is the Director of Operations. Mr. Huneke attended Dakota county technical college for Machine tool and Die and was a Skills USA-VICA State champion for Machine Tool and Die in 2000. Brett has been working hands-on in a machine shop since 2000. Brett specializes in process development, fixture design, programming, on site machining, LEAN manufacturing, setup reductions, product standardization, and 5s process improvement. Briefly before coming to MSI Brett was a Factory Representative for a large round tool manufacturer. In his free time, Brett enjoys the outdoors and shooting sports.

Tiffany Tomai
Finance
    Tiffany has been with Manufacturing Solutions since April 2011. She is responsible for all accounting related duties including invoicing, new customer setup, return credits and much more. Ms. Tomai has experience in customer service, shipping & receiving, and office administration since 1990 and attended the University of Wisconsin Stout for three years and received her accounting degree from Dakota County Technical College. Tiffany, her husband and their daughter reside in Cottage Grove, Minnesota.

Robin Payne
Branch Manager-Iowa
    Robin has been with Manufacturing Solutions since July 2017. She is our key inside sales associate in the new Iowa satellite office. Robin has an extensive background in customer service and data entry including mortgage banking, life insurance, medical transcription and receptionist. She received her AA from Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, IA. Robin was born and raised, and currently resides, in Waterloo, IA. She and her husband Jim have been happily married for nearly 30 years, and have successfully raised their 2 children, Austin and Meghan, to adulthood. In her spare time, Robin enjoys reading, playing volleyball, billiards, and golf. Her favorite times are watching her kids play sports or getting together with friends. Fun Fact about Robin: She and her husband have been renting a houseboat on the Mississippi River for over 30 years!

Jim Ferris
Customer Service Manager
    Jim has been with Manufacturing Solutions since November 2010. He is responsible for managing the customer service team. Jim started working for an Industrial Distributor back in 1989 and has filled almost every role possible including inside sales, outside sales, customer service, purchasing, expediting, job costing, Vending installation, process management, and shipping and receiving. Jim also served 6 years in the US Air Force as an Aircraft Welder. Jim and his wife currently live in Shakopee, Minnesota and he has raised three children and recently celebrated the birth of his second grandchild. When he is not working hard for MSI, Jim enjoys relaxing and fishing.

Becky Parlin
Customer Service Lead
    Becky’s abilities and knowledge of MSI processes and procedures has shown in her work history that she takes pride in what she is doing and makes a big difference to our MSI family. She has been with Manufacturing Solutions since September 2012. She started out as a Receptionist and after a brief stint of trying out the construction industry, returned to MSI and became a customer service representative. She has had experience in customer service since 2001 and office administration since 2010. Becky attended Century College for Photography and Graphic Design where she was on the Dean’s List for her 4.0 GPA. In her spare time, Becky enjoys spending time with her son, family and friends, playing softball, golfing, going to the beach, watching movies, reading books and doing photography and design projects.

Loren Hartfiel

    Loren has been with Manufacturing Solutions since January 2014. He is a customer service representative and has had experience in the Industrial Distribution Industry since 1984. Loren has held positions in both inside and outside sales and is experienced in Sourcing and Expediting. In his spare time he enjoys fishing, spending time with his daughter and granddaughter, riding his motorcycle, traveling, and doing anything outside. Loren, his wife and her three cats reside in Burnsville, Minnesota.

Cindy White
Customer Service Rep.
    Cindy has been with Manufacturing Solutions since February 2015. She is a customer service representative and has 17 years of customer service experience. Cindy has played many different roles over the years with different companies; she was a print coordinator, administrative assistant, account manager, and client care administrator. When Cindy is not at work she enjoys spending her time reading or playing games on her iPad and taking her dog, Jack, for walks or to the dog park. Cindy is currently learning how to speak French. She grew up in St. Paul Park and loved the area so much that she continues to live close in Cottage Grove with her daughter.

Denise Plant
Customer Service Rep.
    Denise has been with Manufacturing Solutions since December 2015. She is a Customer Service Representative and has over 30 years of customer service experience. After being a retail manager for seven years, Denise decided to open her own childcare program, and did that for over 20 years during which she received her Child Development Associate’s degree. She has mentored and trained new child care providers, and received a Washington County Child Care Provider of the Year award. Denise grew up in St. Paul, MN. She moved to St. Paul Park over 25 years ago, where she currently resides with her husband, Rick, and their Yorkie, Digo. Denise has a son in the Marine Corps, stationed in California. She also has a married daughter and has been blessed with a granddaughter and grandson, with whom she spends as much time as possible. In her spare time, Denise enjoys reading, football, live music, and riding the Harley with her husband. Sam Penwell
Customer Service Rep
    Sam has been with MSI since April 2017. He is part of the MSI finance department, with a little customer service and order entry thrown in. Sam attended the University of MN but has 32 credits to go for his degree in Applied Mathematics, which he intends to complete in the not-too-distant future. He currently lives on the East side of St. Paul, but he grew up in Mahtomedi, MN. He graduated from a small private high school with only 45 other students. Sam comes to MSI from Wells Fargo Mortgage. He has 2 dogs, Huckleberry and Roo. He spends his free time reading, playing video games, hanging with friends, and watching movies and sports, especially the NBA. Fun Fact: Sam has no feeling in one of his fingertips due to an unfortunate accident with a Samurai sword!

Loren Pierce
Technical Specialist
    Loren has been with Manufacturing Solutions since October 2011. Loren has experience in the Manufacturing and Cutting Tool Industry since 1979. He specializes in identifying and implementing process improvements and cost savings. His experience includes job processing, set up of high volume machining cells, design fixturing and custom tooling. Prior to working at MSI, Loren was a Factory Representative for a cutting tool manufacturer, an Outside Sales Engineer, a Manufacturing Engineer and a CNC programmer.

Bruce Hill
Technical Specialist
    Bruce has been with Manufacturing Solutions since November 2010. He is a customer service representative and has experience in the Industrial Distribution since 1972. Bruce has extensive product application knowledge, is experienced in sourcing and vendor communications as well as purchasing, expediting, shipping, receiving, production control and inventory management. In addition to his industrial distribution knowledge, Bruce also has experience with office management, credit management and accounting. Mr. Hill was in the Air Force from June 1961 until November 1964 and was stationed in Germany for three years. He is married and has four daughters, including a set of twins, and a standard poodle named Gabby.

Mary Lee

    Mary Lee has been working with Manufacturing Solutions of Minnesota since June 2015. She is the receptionist and she has 30 years of customer service experience. Mary Lee grew up in Windsor Newfoundland in Canada. She grew up in a big family with five brothers and four sisters. She has been happily married for 25 years with 2 kids and a dog. Mary Lee currently resides in Prescott Wisconsin and she thinks this is the coldest place on earth. Kevin Gharrity

    Kevin has been with Manufacturing Solutions since April 2016. He is responsible for managing the integration Team. Kevin has extensive experience in manufacturing with a lot of it in CNC Turning, working with various industries from small medical to large oil/gas work. Mr. Gharrity attended WITC Machine Tooling Technics in New Richmond, Wisconsin where his schooling included general manufacturing and mold design. Darren grew up in the Twin Cities metro area and currently lives in Coon Rapids with his wife Candy and his four children, Dominic, Mackenzie, Duncan, and Dawson. He attended Normandale Community College for small business marketing and management. He also played on their college intermural soccer team, and still enjoys officiating soccer matches in his spare time. When he is not working for MSI, Darren likes riding his Harley, shuttling his kids to sporting events, or just spending time with the family. Darren’s Tidbit: He refereed soccer at the MN State HS League State Tournament in its first year inside US Bank Stadium and recently started a business as a referee assignor for a local club!

Sean was born in Louisville, KY but moved to St. Paul as a child and grew up there. He graduated from the U of M where he studied Business. He has been married to his wife Julianne for 30 years and they have 3 daughters and a granddaughter. Tom Kurz III

    Tom has been with Manufacturing Solutions since June 2009. He is responsible for all sales and technical support, customer support, project management and troubleshooting for the accounts within his select territory. Mr. Kurz has been in the manufacturing and cutting tool industry since 1995 and his experience includes CNC mill/lathe setup, training and supervising new employees, troubleshooting manufacturing processes, identifying and implementing process improvements, programming CNC machines and implementation of fixture changes. Curt Bergemann
Application Engineer
    Curt has been with Manufacturing Solutions since October 2009. He is responsible for all sales and technical support, customer support, project management and troubleshooting for the accounts within his territory of North Dakota. Mr. Bergemann has had experience in the Manufacturing and Cutting Tool Industry since 1989. He graduated from North Dakota State College with his degree in Advanced Machining in 1992 and he specializes in identifying and implementing improvements throughout the entire manufacturing process. His experience includes operation of most all CNC and manual machines found in a machine shop. He is proficient in the programming and setup of CNC Turing Centers, Machining Centers, robots and screw machines. He is also experienced with the design and build of fixtures for both machining and welding processes. Curt has held the positions of Machine Shop Owner, Manufacturing Engineer, Programmer, Lead Machinist, and Tool Maker. Aside from work, Curt enjoys snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with family and friends. Curt along with his fiancé Marlene, 14 year old daughter Ivy, Marlene’s 15 year old son Mason, and their black lab Rambo reside in Fargo, North Dakota.

Jeff Schammel
Application Engineer
    Jeff has been with Manufacturing Solutions since February 2010. He is responsible for all sales and technical support, customer support, project management and troubleshooting for the accounts within his territory of Southern Minnesota. Mr. Schammel has had experience in the Manufacturing and Cutting Tool Industry since 1977 and has been a Sales Engineer in the Cutting tool Industry since 2001. Jeff has also been a Manufacturing Engineer, CNC Programmer and Machine Operator. Jeff’s specializes in process evaluation, process improvements, and implementation of cost savings. His experience includes Production setup, operation, programming, trouble shooting, identifying process improvements, and training on both manual and CNC equipment; High end high pressure hydraulics production; Manual and CAD/CAM programming; Manual, Single axis, Multi axis and Multi-tasking CNC equipment machining small to large parts; Automatic parts loading, parts staging and material handling systems in a high production environment; Implementation of new machines and tooling; Process planning, management and cost estimating and Deep hole drilling adapted to CNC lathes and deep hole drilling machines, Jeff is proficient in “Just In Time Manufacturing” and “Setup Reduction”, Utilization of the latest and most efficient tooling, fixtures, gaging and work holding systems and specializes in advanced tooling to optimize processes. Paul Dahlquist
Application Engineer
    Paul has been with Manufacturing Solutions since March 2010. He is responsible for all sales and technical support, customer support, project management and troubleshooting for the accounts within his territory which includes West Central Minnesota. Paul been in the Manufacturing and Cutting Tool industry since 1994 and his experience includes operations and setup of CNC and manual machines such as Spine Rollers, Hobs, Broaches, Lathes, Mills and Fanuc Robots and he is knowledgeable in gear cutting, turning and milling using the latest advancements in automation, cellular manufacturing and Lean Technology. He specializes in identifying and implementing process improvements and cost savings. Mr. Dahlquist attended Dunwoody and Pine Technical Colleges and his honors include Six Sigma Black Belt, Certification in Toyota Lean Manufacturing, 6D Corrective Actions, Honda 5 Why System, 5S & 5 Pillars, and several more including advanced statistics. When not on the road driving to a customer, or in the office, Paul enjoys shooting sports, hunting, fishing, outdoors and travel. He currently resides in Mora, Minnesota with his wife, Nikki and their daughter.

Mike Wertz
Application Engineer
    Mike has been with Manufacturing Solutions since October 2010. He is responsible for all sales and technical support, customer support, project management and troubleshooting for the accounts within his territory of South Dakota. Mr. Wertz has had experience in the Manufacturing and Cutting Tool Industry since 1994. He specializes in identifying and implementing process improvements and cost savings, is experienced with hydraulic components and quality tools, is trained in Six Sigma and KAIZEN, has completed training courses in Power Inspect, Romer Arm, and Robotics. Mike came to MSI with prior experience as a Machining Supervisor, Tooling Purchaser, and CNC Programmer. Mike and his wife live in Oakes, North Dakota with their son and cat. In his free time, he enjoys camping, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.

Tyler Stilke
Application Engineer
    Tyler has been with Manufacturing Solutions since January 2012. He is responsible for all sales and technical support, customer support, project management and troubleshooting for the accounts within his territory of Northwest Minnesota. Mr. Stilke has had experience in the Cutting Tool and Machining Industry since 2007. Tyler graduated from Alexandria Technical College with a degree in Mechanical Draft Design Engineering. Tyler’s experience includes the ability to machine and assemble recreational drive train components and hydraulic components, CNC Mill and Lathe, Welding and Lean Manufacturing Principles. In his free time, Tyler enjoys snowmobiling in Idaho and Wyoming, wakeboarding and farming. He and his German Wire Hair reside in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

Bryce Wiskow
Application Engineer
    Bryce has been with Manufacturing Solutions since June 2012. He is responsible for all sales, technical & customer support, project management and troubleshooting for his accounts within the Twin Cities Area of Minnesota. Bryce has been in the Machining and Manufacturing Industry since 1992. After attending Alexandria and Rochester Technology College for machining, Bryce was accepted into the Remmele Engineering Apprenticeship Program, from which he graduated an accomplished and seasoned Journeyman Machinist. He has over 20 years of experience in programming, setup, operation and maintenance of manual and CNC machines, including 3, 4 & 5 Axis Mills, Twin Spindle and Multi –Turret Mill-Turn Machines, Lathes, Swiss Machines, Wire and Sinker EDM and Grinding equipment. Bryce has over 14 years programming experience with GibbsCam and Espirit CAD/CAM. He is also quite accomplished with fixture design and building, tool and cutter grinding, ferrous and non-ferrous material machining. Bryce has vast knowledge of part inspection equipment including CMM, Optical gaging and most types of manual gaging. He is also experienced in the assembly of automation equipment including electric, pneumatic and hydraulic components; TIG, MIG and SMAW welding and sheet metal fabrication. He also has a good understanding of ISO standard and procedures and Lean Manufacturing Principles. In his free time Bryce enjoys spending time with his family, camping, fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling, off road activities with his jeep or four wheeler and hanging out with friends. Bryce and his family live on a small hobby farm near Stillwater, MN. They have two daughters, one son and a yellow lab “Sadie”.

Travis Nelson
Application Engineer
    Travis has been with Manufacturing Solutions since October 2013. He is responsible for all sales and technical support, customer support, project management and troubleshooting for the accounts within his Wisconsin territory. Mr. Nelson has had experience in the Manufacturing and Cutting Tool Industry since 2001. He specializes in identifying and implementing process improvements and cost savings. His experience includes stream lining manufacturing operations, setup and programming of CNC machines both vertical and horizontal milling machines, drilling, milling and tapping improvements, shop production scheduling, supervision, training, problem solving, and policy/program development. Travis has been in the purchasing role for tooling and is fluent with Auto Crib software. Travis has completed 3 levels of training courses in Gibbs CAM programming including 3-D modeling, 4 & 5 axis programming and graduated with a Machine Tool technical degree from Chippewa Valley Technical College. Travis and his wife, Melanie, reside in the beautiful Northwood’s of Chetek Wisconsin with their beautiful daughter, Faith, and their two labs-Shelby and Lilly. In his spare time, Travis enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, waterskiing, snowshoeing and riding motorcycle with his wife.

Casey Clark
Application Engineer
    Casey has been with Manufacturing Solutions since September 2015. He is responsible for all sales and technical support, customer support, project management and troubleshooting for the accounts in his select territory. Mr. Clark started CNC machining in 1997 where he has worked as a CNC setup, Floor supervisor, as well as a Manufacturing Engineer and General Manager. He is proficient in CNC Turning, Milling, Rotoflo, Broaching, and spline forming. CNC grinding, Cellular Manufacturing, and Setup time reduction. Manual programming and CAD/CAM. Casey is also proficient in the implementation and maintenance of the ISO9001:2008 system. Casey was also a member of the Alexandria Technical and Community College staff where he was a Customized Training -Manufacturing Specialist. He is certification in Advanced CNC machining, 5 Pillars, Lean Manufacturing, Level 2 GD&T Blueprint, Fanuc Robotics programming and operation. He has spent the last 5 years with Sumitomo Electric Carbide as a Sales Engineer. Casey currently resides in Sebeka, Minnesota with his wife and their 8 children. In his free time he enjoys hunting, fishing, shooting sports, and spending time outdoors with his family.

Matt Walliczek
Application Engineer
    Matt has been with Manufacturing Solutions since July 2016. He is responsible for sales, technical & customer support, project management and troubleshooting for his accounts north west and south west of Minneapolis. Matt started machining in 1995 at a blow mold facility where he programed using Master Cam, ran manual mills and lathes. In 2000 Matt went on to work at large Medical and aerospace forging / machining facility in Michigan. During the 12 years he worked in the medical and aerospace manufacturing field he was fortunate to spend time in all facets of the high temp alloy manufacturing. He has experience in forge & stamping die design, hard die machining, stamping, forging, heat treating, mass finish processing, chemical machining, programing and set up of 5 axis milling and 5 axis mill turns. He went on to an automotive firm as an application engineer where he worked on cycle time reduction and robotics efficiency improvements. Matt has experience machining titanium, Inconel, Waspaly, cobalt chrome, cobalt high carbon, stainless steel, H13, S7, D2, P20, PX5, and mild steel. He grew up in lower Michigan and attended Lansing technical and community college. Matt currently resides in Elk River, Minnesota with his wife and 2 Children. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, shooting sport, and spending time with his family.

Matt Klein
Application Engineer
    Matt has been with Manufacturing Solutions since September 2017. Mr. Klein is responsible for all sales and technical support, customer support, project management and troubleshooting for the accounts within his territory in Iowa. He has been involved in the Manufacturing and Cutting Tool industry, from operating manual machines to Lead CNC Programmer, since 2007. Matt was born in Chicago but moved to Iowa as a young child and grew up in Cedar Rapids. He attended the University of Iowa, studying business and journalism. Matt and his wife Holly reside in Cedar Rapids with their two dogs, Puma and Hershey. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, fishing, landscaping his property, and attending sporting events; although of the three Chicago Bears games that he has attended, he has yet to see them score a touchdown.

    Matt’s Tidbit: When he was four years old, he placed golf balls on the tee for Michael Jordan and received an autograph and two one dollar bills.
